Nicolas Koline

Breakthrough Years
1930
After emigrating to Germany, Nicolas Koline found a significant role in the early sound film Der weiße Teufel (The White Devil). Playing the character of Shamil, this film marked his transition into more prominent cinematic roles in his adopted country.
1931
Koline achieved wider recognition for his memorable role as the coachman Pepi in the highly successful operetta film Der Kongreß tanzt (The Congress Dances). This international hit firmly established him as a recognizable character actor in German cinema.
1936
By starring in the popular musical comedy Glückskinder (Lucky Children) as the Registrar, Koline solidified his reputation as a beloved character actor in German films. This UFA production further cemented his presence in many successful productions throughout the decade.
