- Forrest J Ackerman, editor from 1958 to 1995, was a legendary figure and a true lover of fantastic movies. He was the one who invented the term "Sci-Fi" among many others.
CASTLE OF FRANKENSTEIN

- Published by Gothic Castle Publishing Co.
- In 1999 Scary Monsters publisher, Dennis Druktenis, published a series of regular issues, which ended in Spring 2004.
- Don and Vicki Smeraldi as the co-publishers of Scary Monsters, resurrected Castle of Frankenstein in February 2021 with a tribute issue (Scary Monsters #120).
- Issued twice a year in the Spring and Fall.
