- First and last issue: 1968-2009
- Skrien started in November 1968 as "Filmschrift Skrien". (Filmschrift is the Dutch translation for Cahier du Cinema). At the time the publishers were leftwing politically engaged, and focused on filmtheory, non-commercial films and alternative cinema all over the world. In the Eighties the name changed to Skrien. Today the main focus is still on Art-House and World Cinema.
