2023's HOTTEST MOVIES • Thanks for all the high-ĥying memories, Maverick. We still can’t help falling in love with you, Elvis. But the turn of the calendar means that it’s oĦcially time to have a tizzy over a fresh slate of movies. And after three years of pandemic-induced stop-and-start productions and delayed releases, Hollywood is Ĥnally storming the gates with a slew of would-be blockbusters. “If 2022 was a transitional year for movies, then I think 2023 is going to mark a really strong recovery,” says Paul Dergarabedian, a senior media analyst for Comscore, a company that measures and analyzes box-oĦce and small-screen numbers. “There are so many recognizable and interesting titles coming out at a steadier pace. You won’t see a drought or just one Ĥlm dominating.” Indeed, say hello again in a hurry to the likes of Indiana Jones, John Wick, the Ant-Man and the Wasp, Ethan Hunt and (Ĥngers crossed) Elle Woods — plus Willy Wonka and Barbie in a whole new hue. Here are 10 enticing and exciting oģerings primed to light up the dark.

OUR MUSICAL PASTS • With the upcoming Grammys (Feb. 5 on CBS) and the death of Lisa Marie Presley, we’ve had music on our mind. For nine decades, Parade has celebrated the music of each era, and put the spotlight on musicians—from Elvis and Frank Sinatra (many times) to the Beatles and Glen Gampbell. Music, after all, isn’t just toe-tapping. It tells stories, reflects the times—and makes us feel, remember and learn. Here’s a sampling of the covers from the 1940s to 1970s we found in the Parade vault. Check back next week for more from 1970s to present, including Cher, Garth Brooks and Sting.

TRACEE ELLIS ROSS • The Emmy-nominated Black-ish actress and activist is still a curious child at heart. “It’s what turns me on about life,” she says.

Rudd suits up along with Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly), aka The Wasp, for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (in theaters Feb. 17). This go-round, the duo, along with their families, explores the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that will push them beyond the limits of what they thought possible. <br>
LOVE IS IN THE AIR • With Valentine’s Day just a few days away, we took a look at romance through the ages via Parade’s cover vault. It was notable that the sweet, silly covers of the 1940s (hearts and malts and kisses in the hay) soon gave way to more serious examinations of what is love. In fact, the magazine hired no less than controversial author Erica Jong to predict who would be the heartthrob of the ‘80s. And when it comes to coupledom, the magazine has featured more than a few—from devoted lovers Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner and Princess Grace and Prince Rainier III to many couples who wouldn’t last. Marriage in Hollywood turns out to be quite the challenge.
